Since Your Here - I'd Like To Say....
Perhaps you've stumbled here looking for information on unschooling. I wish I could help you. My two children, husband and I are just starting this journey ourselves. This blog is meant to be a record of what my children are learning and how but good reading it is not. (unless you suffer from insomnia in which case, "Read on!" And if you do read on please know that I am aware that Details of the Day is full of errors - typos and sentence fragments. I do not generally go back and correct my mistakes because I think it is much more important to spend time with my children as they are learning instead of keeping perfect records of that learning. Still it is comforting to look back over time and remember what we have accomplished, for sometimes those milestones are overlooked in the everydayness of life. So I try to post without getting hung up on "perfect." If you'd like to read a more interesting and real view of our lives please visit our regular blogs.... See them in the sidebar? They are much better... I promise....and there are pictures! :)

Watch Peep's big world
We read the remaining Library books from last week.
Sister dictates a summary of Castaway Cats (see ThisSimpleLife.net)
Sister creates a treasure map for Brother then takes him on a hunt that plays out
more like a melodramatic opera than your typical treasure hunt.
Yo, Gabba, Gabba
Library visit after lunch. Sister colors. Brother plays with puzzles and a couple of computer games.
Sister brings Abiyoyo to me to read. Instead I suggest that we read it together.
I do the big words and she reads all of the small ones. (A, an, the, and, in, up,
boy, father, and the like.) Many she knows already and many other she sounds out
on her own. After doing so well she is inspired to read "The Little Red Hen"
together as well.

10/19 - Sister & Dad go to Starry Safari at the Tulsa Zoo. It's kind of like camping out in the wild because you are surround by wild animals but much safer because they are all in cages.
Brother and I stay at Grandma's. The next day the cousins came to play for the afternoon. Much fun was had by all. We drive home late on Saturday and get up for church the next morning. Sister learns about Solomon and his dream where he chooses wisdom instead of riches. I can tell she is quite intrigued by this.
